women build

show the community what the collective power of women can accomplish!

The goal of Women Build is to empower women to help families build strength, stability and independence. At Habitat, we have the ability to provide opportunities for hands-on construction learning, so women can build skills and assume leadership roles while building Habitat homes.

In Manitoba, the Women Build program was in established in 2005, and has raised close to $1.9 million dollars. The committee hosts multiple events throughout the year to fundraise to construct a home for a working family to purchase a new, affordable home.

Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, Women Build crew leaders, volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and it improves the community that you share.

All ages and genders are welcome, promoting solidarity and pride in the community as we work alongside each other to build affordable houses for deserving Habitat Partner families.
