Habitat Manitoba's Impact in the Community

  • This year, we built 20 homes in Winnipeg, Brandon, Dauphin, Landmark, Morden, Portage La Prairie and Winkler. In 2024, we plan to complete 24 homes across Manitoba and in Kenora, ON.

  • Your generous support directly impacts the number of families we serve and the homes we can build and each year in Manitoba. Habitat Manitoba relies on four sources of revenue to continue building homes for low-income families in the homeownership program: fundraising through events, programs and campaigns, government support and funding, the three ReStore locations, and mortgage payments from existing homeowners.

  • Through Habitat Manitoba’s affordable homeownership program, we offer families a hand up, empowering them to build strength, stability and self-reliance. Meet some of the incredible the families here.

women build

The Women Build program introduces women to Habitat Manitoba construction site(s), and through mentorship and training encourages women to assume leadership roles while building Habitat homes. Women Build welcomes all ages and genders, and are proud of their inclusivity. They promote solidarity and pride in the community, working alongside each other to build affordable houses for deserving Habitat Partner families.

Women Build was established in 2005 and have raised close to $1.7 million dollars. In 2023, the Women Build program reached a monumental milestone by sponsoring their 20th home.

The funds needed to construct Women Build homes are raised by a dedicated committee and sub-committees who fundraise all year long through various events and campaigns, and then they come together to work on building the home.
