Pandora Avenue West Project

The housing crisis is one that has been years in the making and affects everyone. A stronger, more equitable province and country begins with ensuring access to safe and affordable housing. 

We are currently building a 55-home project on Pandora Avenue West in Transcona that will house approximately 275 people, including 175 children. This project is a beacon of hope for families caught in the housing crisis. 15 families have already moved into their homes and we look forward to welcoming another 20 families home in 2025. We are scheduled to complete the final 20 homes in 2026.

Since our founding in 1987, Habitat Manitoba has mobilized volunteers and community partners to construct over 500 safe, affordable homes. These homes not only address the immediate housing crisis but also foster long-term sustainability and financial stability for families. Through advanced construction practices, such as R32-insulated walls, triple-pane windows, and high-efficiency ventilation systems, our homes significantly reduce energy consumption, with families enjoying average monthly utility costs of just $100.
