Habitat Manitoba Welcomes Home the Final 15 Families to Complete Historic Development

WINNIPEG, MB – Habitat for Humanity Manitoba is proud to announce that the final 15 families will be moving into their new homes at the Pandora Avenue West development in Transcona, marking the completion of the organization’s largest affordable homeownership development to date.

Situated on three acres of land in Transcona, Habitat Manitoba has completed 11 blocks of five-townhouse units, creating 55 brand-new homes for local families. The development is now home to approximately 275 residents, including 175 children.

For many of these families, the journey to homeownership is a meaningful and transformative process that requires dedication, hard work, and a long-term commitment. Future homeowners invest significant time and effort throughout the program, helping to build the skills, stability, and confidence needed for lasting success in their new homes and communities.

“This final key ceremony represents years of collaboration between future homeowners, volunteers, donors, community partners, and supporters who helped make the development a reality, said Jamie Hall, CEO, Habitat Manitoba. “It’s incredible to see how a place that was once bare ground has grown into a vibrant community. Today, kids are playing together, families feel safe, neighbours are connecting, and memories are being made every single day.”

Habitat Manitoba is on schedule to complete 31 homes this year across embarking on one of the most ambitious construction seasons in our history. Each home creates an opportunity for a family to put down roots, gain financial stability, and build a brighter future through affordable homeownership.

Habitat Manitoba invites media to attend a special celebration recognizing the families, partners, and supporters who contributed to this transformational project.
