volunteer time
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat Manitoba.
volunteer on a build site
Our Habitat homes are truly the homes that love built. They’re constructed almost entirely by caring volunteers, with the support of dedicated, skilled Habitat for Humanity Manitoba staff. It takes many caring hands to build a Habitat home. Whether you’re a contractor or have never picked up a hammer in your life, we can use your help!
The 2025 Build Season will run from April 29 to October 31! Volunteer opportunities are available Tuesday to Friday 8:15 am – 4:00 pm. We will be building at our largest project in our history located at 900 Pandora Ave West in Transcona (same build site as last year!).
Volunteer registration is now open!
Volunteer Construction Blitz Build
From Monday, August 11 to Friday, August 15 we hosted the Volunteer Construction Blitz Build where we saw 75 volunteers, and 15 crew leaders and staff build for five consecutive days! It was an unforgettable week of hope, hard work, and human connection.
Each day on the build site was filled with energy and purpose, as volunteers came together to bring a new home—and a new beginning—to life. Every nail hammered, every board lifted, and every window set into place brought us one step closer to making a family’s dream a reality.
Working side by side over five powerful days, we witnessed friendships form, barriers break down and a true sense of community take root. By the end of the week, it was clear: this wasn’t just about building walls and roofs—it was about building something much deeper.
Volunteers stepped into all kinds of tasks—from framing and sheathing to flooring and installing doors and windows. They even raised a wall the entire length of a five plex unit! And no matter the job, each contribution built more than a house—it built hope.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time, energy, and heart to this special week. Together, we didn’t just build a home—we built a future.
