For a second year,  Habitat for Humanity Manitoba teamed up with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to help build a house, and we invited the community to join us.

The day kicked off with special appearances by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers mascots, Buzz and Boomer, bringing excitement and helping the Build with a Bomber group stretch their muscles to prepare for a busy day. 25 participants were able to mix and mingle with Winnipeg Blue Bombers player Trey Vaval, defensive back, and former Winnipeg Blue Bombers player Brandon Alexander, while giving back to the community.

Many participants described the experience as inspiring and unforgettable, noting how motivating it was to build shoulder to shoulder with Blue Bombers players while contributing to a future Habitat homeowner’s journey. Click here to see photos.

Trey Vaval is an American football player who plays defensive back and return specialist for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League. Known for his speed and playmaking ability, he quickly became one of the league’s top returners.

In 2025, he had a breakout season and won the CFL Most Outstanding Special Teams Player Award, recognizing him as the league’s best special teams performer.
