Habitat for Humanity Manitoba has joined forces with the Manitoba Real Estate Association in an exciting new partnership. Manitoba REALTORS® recognizes that shelter is a vital component of our communities and understands that structured fundraising and philanthropy are beneficial to community development. Therefore, the Manitoba REALTORS® Shelter Foundation was created to support Manitoba charities that are devoted to
shelter-related causes.
Our collaboration will play a crucial role in the construction of homes, directly benefiting Manitoban families and exemplifying our dedication to creating sustainable, thriving communities.
In 2024, the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences is partnering with Habitat Manitoba for their 5th home sponsorship build. The Rady Faculty of Health Sciences offers a broad range of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate educational programs in the health professions and basic medical sciences to more than 3,100 students each year.
On June 5, 6, 7, 11, 14, we welcomed 43 volunteers from the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. “Key to Health” was the theme of the build. Thank you to the following groups: College of Dentistry, Rehab Sciences, College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine and the College of Nursing.
The Rady Faculty of Health Sciences focuses on health and social well-being, and believes that social responsibility and accountability are core values for their students, faculty and staff. They recognize that housing is a social determinant of health and that too many children and families cannot afford safe housing. Habitat believes that safe, decent and affordable housing is a “key to health” and leads to better outcomes including improved health, education success and self-esteem.
