Habitat Build Day
The ultimate team-building experience!
how it works
Our Habitat Build Day is ideal for corporate teams who are looking to give back to the community in a meaningful way, while learning new skills. No construction experience or gear required! We take care of it all, from registration to tool belts. We build year-round in Manitoba. Our build sites can accommodate teams of 5 to 50 people with customizable programs to meet your corporate employee engagement and team building objectives. Participants get the opportunity to work in collaborative groups to complete building tasks and accomplish something meaningful for their community.
what is a Habitat build day?
This one-of-a-kind employee engagement opportunity offers your company the chance to invest in your employees while making a real difference in the lives of hard-working families and the communities in which they live. Your team members will come together on a Habitat for Humanity Manitoba build site, roll up their sleeves and work to support families to build strength, stability and self-reliance through home ownership.
Habitat’s team building opportunity is an experience like no other. Participants of all skill levels and abilities are welcome – no construction experience required! Your team members will learn useful skills as they work side by side in a safe environment under the leadership of experienced Habitat Manitoba crew leaders. You will have fun; connect with your colleagues in a truly meaningful way, leaving the build site proud of your accomplishments, your colleagues, and your organization.
An investment in our builds is an investment in your team members, your community, and your corporate brand.
Your team’s safety is our first priority. Our Habitat Manitoba staff and volunteers will ensure that you are safe throughout the day. All participants are suited up with safety gear, trained and coached through a variety of construction tasks, while having fun.

“Giving back and making a positive difference in the communities where Enterprise employees live and work is part of our culture. In fact, one of our founding values is, “We strengthen our communities, one neighborhood at time.” It’s because of organizations like Habitat for Humanity that we are able to exemplify this value and support our community in so many impactful ways.
“Employees are encouraged to get involved in their communities in any way they choose, and so many times, our employees choose to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. They tell us that being a part of the building process provides a unique experience that allows them to see firsthand the gratitude of soon-to-be homeowners”.
“As an organization, participating in the Team Building program is about improving our community, supporting families, and spending the day with our colleagues in an entirely different environment. For Emergent, it is an annual event that has a quick volunteer sign-up and is so rewarding to all of us, and it pays back ten-fold in our team culture. Amazing what each set of hands can do to make a difference”.

“Magellan Aerospace is a supporter of numerous Winnipeg community activities, and has been a supporter of Habitat for Humanity since 2007. Many of our employees volunteer for the builds year after year, such as Willy Wall, a senior quality assurance representative. Willy volunteers because ‘it is a feeling of accomplishment to see the amount of work done in a day working with a crew of people eager to help. It also makes you thankful for what you have. For example, one day when working on a house in hot conditions I was grumbling about having to cut my grass when I went home. The homeowner standing there said he couldn’t wait to have that opportunity. That’s what it’s all about’”.

“At CIBC it is important to be well known within our communities and to be ambassadors of our brand. When I was first approached with the idea to partner with Habitat for Humanity on an Adopt-A-Day project I immediately said yes. At the time I did not know the logistics, however, I knew one thing and that was I have always wanted to part of a home build with Habitat for Humanity. I knew my passion to do this would immediately stir the passion within my team and I would have 10 yeses almost as immediately as I had said yes.
The day was beyond rewarding. From the moment we walked on to the job site you knew that our involvement was going to make a difference and help a family in need. Each of my team members in one way or another had come up to me during the day expressing their thanks to have been asked to be a part of this. You could see the impact it was having on them by the expression on their faces. Everyone played a role in making the day one that we continue to talk about and that will live on in our memories. As the albums were passed around to sign I caught glimpses of some of my team members deep in thought about what they wanted to say – I knew they were reflecting on two things 1) What they wanted to say to the families and 2) What the day meant to them personally.
I want to thank the Habitat for Humanity on site crew who were very patient as the showed some of new skills and to take some of us out of our comfort zone. You all provided the foundation to make our involvement in such a wonderful program personally rewarding for all of us.”
