Brandon Chapter: Women Build

700 Franklin Street

Based on the current Provincial Restrictions in the Prairie Mountain Health Region Habitat for Humanity Manitoba has made the decision to suspend all Group Volunteer activities on our construction sites in Brandon until further notice.

Habitat for Humanity Manitoba, Brandon Chapter hosted their 4th annual Women Build July 13-17, 2020. The Women Build saw an impressive 34 volunteers who collectively put in 376 volunteer hours to help to build a home a home in the 700 block of Franklin street in Brandon Manitoba. The volunteers worked alongside our partnering homeowners and completed tasks throughout the week that ranged from backfilling around the home, to building the main floor, exterior, and interior walls. Coffee and lunch breaks for the volunteers were generously supported by the following local businesses: Coffee Culture Café & Eatery, Forbidden Flavours on 18th, Aida’s Catering, Benny’s Restaurant & Catering, Heritage Co-op, Qdoba Mexican Eats. Women Build Volunteers continue to collect pledges to support this initiative along with hosting their annual Designer Bag Bingo which raised over $19,000 this past February.
