What we’re proposing
The Pandora Avenue West housing proposal is intended to create a residential community within the existing property. A collection of 55 homes for families is proposed. 5 of the 10 buildings contains 4 two storey units and one accessible one storey unit that can be incorporated to accommodate a family requiring barrier free elements. The remaining 5 building contain 6 two storey units. The proposal includes parking, common landscaped spaces and a shared play area for children. Landscaping is to be used to improve privacy from the adjacent properties, and differently coloured cladding materials identify individual homes.
I am taking this opportunity to let you know that we purchased the undeveloped three acre site adjacent to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. We wish to re-zone this for residential development and build highly energy efficient, aesthetically pleasing townhomes.
The property is currently zoned M1, which means light manufacturing, warehouse and distribution centers can occupy the site.
Changing zoning and receiving approval for a development plan is a public hearing process in front of the East Kildonan Transcona Community Committee. A hearing date has not been set but we expect it will be early in 2021. The City will provide notice when the hearing is scheduled.
