Signature Cycling Events
Did you know that Habitat Manitoba has been fundraising through cycling events since 1994? Every year, we host three cycling fundraisers to help build homes for families in Manitoba.
Cycle of Hope
Cycle of Hope is Habitat Manitoba’s longest running fundraising event. Each year, as many as 40 cyclists book time off work to take part in this 2-week event. The cycling route varies from year to year, giving cyclists a beautiful view of Canada and the US. Fundraising is a huge aspect of this event as cyclists are asked to raise $3,500 in order to take part of the ride. But their fundraising efforts don’t end there. The cyclists continue to raise money during and even after the event. Annually, this event raises enough money to build one Habitat home.
Spirit of Hope
Spirit of Hope was introduced in 2020. This five day, supported cycling adventure follows along the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Cyclists enjoy a moderately challenging ride that begins in Winnipeg, MB, heads to the northern tip of Hecla Island, MB and loops back to Winnipeg. It’s an opportunity to relive childhood memories of summer camp by staying at Camp Arnes where riders experience fun activities, campfires and indoor accommodations.
Ride Around The Lake
Ride Around the Lake is a beautiful 3-day cycling event where up to 40 cyclists ride in and around parts of Ontario. The cyclists ride and average daily distance or 117 km – totaling around 350 km. Annually, this event raises enough money to build two Habitat homes.
