Safety, Health & Environment Policy
The Board of Directors and Management of Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg believe that safety is of paramount importance to our employees, volunteers and sub-contractors on our build sites and to our employees, volunteers and customers in the ReStore.
Consequently, we have developed a multi-tier approach to safety. Our comprehensive policy includes training, monitoring, ensuring the use of proper equipment, utilizing outside experts, having a safety professional audit our sites during build season, daily safety talks on the build sites and direction and support from the Department of Workplace Health and Safety and Workers Compensation Board.
Safety is everyone’s business. We fully embrace the province’s SAFE program. We encourage all of our employees, volunteers and contractors to:
Spot the hazard
Assess the risk
Find a better way
Every day
The assistance, support and cooperation of everyone involved with Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg is needed and expected in order to protect the safety and health of all of Habitat’s stakeholders.
