About the ReStore
The Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg ReStore is a home improvement outlet that resells quality new and used
building materials and home furnishings.
The funds raised through the ReStore help build homes for low-income families,
while the store itself reduces the amount of materials that would otherwise be headed for overflowing
landfills.
Last year, the Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg ReStore saved over one million pounds of reusable product from local landfills and helped build homes for nine families.
The Winnipeg ReStore features:
- Paved parking lot with room for more than 100 cars.
- 20,000 sq. feet of retail space.
- Spacious aisles for easy shopping.
ReStore Fast Fact
Did you know that the ReStore idea was a locally developed concept? And that the world's first location was located right here in Winnipeg?
In 1991, five innovative people
each put up about $500 to get the idea off the ground and the first Habitat ReStore was created.
There are now 60 ReStores across Canada and hundreds more across the globe! |
