We Need Your Help!
Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg (HFHW) has been offered a tremendous funding opportunity by Manitoba Lotteries Corporation (MLC) through their visionary plan for affordable housing in Manitoba, the Habitat for Humanity Legacy Build.
MLC have committed $350,000 per year to HFHW for the next five years. Our responsibility to qualify for this outstanding generosity in 2008 —is to match this amount with new donations by this coming September!
The matching $350,000 will come from many sources and already Wawanesa Mutual Insurance, The Pollard Family Foundation, Ibex Payroll Services, and Cargill Limited have joined with us! With the support of these organizations our fundraising efforts are well underway with a significant amount already raised—but we still need your help!
With your assistance in raising the remaining funds, we can continue to move forward with our mission of helping to eliminate poverty housing in Winnipeg. Over the next five years, through this exciting funding opportunity, 30 low-income working families in Winnipeg will become proud homeowners!
Through your donation, you are not only helping these initial 30 families, but many more in the future. Habitat homeowners pay monthly mortgages to Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg which directly assists in the construction of homes for more Habitat families.
Assuming a 25 year amortization, these mortgage payments will fund an additional 47 homes for a total of 77 homes from the initial investment! We will be pleased to provide you with the spreadsheets detailing how this works.
We would be ecstatic if you, or your company or organization would provide financial support for our 2008 Matching Program. Don’t wait! Please help us build safe, decent, and affordable housing for more Winnipeg families!
Online donations are now being accepted! Click here to go to our secure online donation and select ‘2008 Matching Program’ to direct your contribution to this amazing program.
