Habitat hosts dinner at Better Building Conference & Exhibition
Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg (HFHW) hosted the dinner at the Better Building Conference & Exhibition for the first time on April 13th at the Winnipeg Convention Center. The themed event, “Green and Thriving” attracted 152 attendees that enjoyed a delicious meal, silent auction and a raffle draw.

The evening’s Emcee, Big Daddy Tazz entertained the crowd with his razor-sharp wit and sense of humor while music was graciously donated by the Miles Macdonell Jazz Quartet.
An evening highlight included Lisa, a Habitat homeowner delivering a heartfelt message of her journey with Habitat. The thankful homeowner shared how owning her own home and being part of a community helped her children to grow and thrive. She relives these moments by watching the joy in her grandchild when she comes to visit.
Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg CEO, Sandy Hopkins delivered a very informative speech on the HFHW Sustainable Build program and the steps Habitat has taken to become more ‘Green’ through its commitment to achieving the Manitoba Hydro PowerSmart Gold Standard and LEED certification.
The evening ended with an exciting raffle draw for a return trip for two courtesy of West Jet. Congratulations to the lucky winner, Ash Boyd of Pristine Roofing.
