December 13, 2011 - For the past three years, Habitat's annual Blitz Build has taken place at the Sir Sam Steele site on the popular Nairn Avenue location. The initial three-year plan concluded last year with 32 Habitat homes using up all the available land, except of course where the abandoned old school resides.

November 21, 2011 - National Housing Day on Nov. 22nd, reminds Canadians to recognize and reflect on the issue of affordable housing. Between 150,000 and 300,000 people are homeless in Canada, and millions more are living in inadequate or unaffordable housing. And surprisingly, Canada is the only major industrialized country without a national housing program.
