A Twist on Gift Giving

Involve your Community > Block Party “A-thon”
Working together, you can help Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg build more homes and hope in our community. Coordinating a Bike, Walk, Run, etc. “a-thon” is easy. See below for tips on coordinating your event.

Using an online fundraising and event facilitation tool:

  1. Go online to quickly and easily setup your event. You’ll be able to set an event fundraising goal and track your success. From within the system you can email your family and friends and request that they sponsor you.
  2. Promote your event by providing the URL. Encourage other participants to setup their own pages that can be easily emailed to their family and friends to make secure credit card donations. Tax receipts will be issued immediately for any donation amount.
  3. At your event, make sure you announce how much money you have raised to build homes and hope in our community.

Using paper pledge forms:
  1. Simply register your event with us, and we will email you the pledge form and an authorization letter.
  2. Please provide a form to each participant.  Ask each participant to clearly record the information on the form so that accurate tax receipts* can be issued to donors.  Each participant should also total their form and ensure all of their pledges have been collected.
  3. At your event, make sure you tally the results and announce how much money you have raised to build homes and hope in our community. 
  4. Please mail, or drop off the participant forms and funds collected to Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg. Please do not send cash in the mail.

    * Tax receipts will be issued for all donations of $20 or more unless otherwise requested.
